　　Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree and completed all required courses at academic institutions accredited by one of the six U.S. regional accrediting bodies.

　　Accounting Course Requirements:

　　Applicants are required to complete a minimum of 27 semester(or 40 quarter)hours in accounting to include 21 semester hours(32 quarter hours)in specialized accounting beyond the introductory level and 3 semester hours(4 quarter hours)in auditing which includes coverage of U.S.Generally Accepted Auditing Standards(U.S.GAAS).

　　Other Business Course Requirements:

　　Applicants must also complete at least 21 semester(or 32 quarter)hours in other business administration courses such as business law,management, marketing,statistics,business communication,economics and finance.However,no more than six semester hours(nine quarter hours)in any one of these areas can be applied toward the 21 semester hour total.

　　Education requirements must be met through academic coursework completed at an accredited institution.Professional training is not acceptable toward these requirements.Coursework completed as part of a Chartered Accountant program is considered professional training and is,therefore,not accepted toward the education requirements for theU.S.Uniform CPA Examination.
