高顿网校小编为您介绍CGA-Canada’s Looking Forward:

  Looking Forward
In the spring of 2013, CGA-Canada re-entered unification talks with CPA Canada, a move that was in step with decisions made by several Canadian and international CGA affiliates. CGA-Canada subsequently signed a participation agreement to formalize integration discussions. The target date for an Integration Agreement is fall 2013.

Meanwhile, CGA-Canada remains focused on delivering on its strategic plan. CGA-Canada continues to be a leader in professional development opportunities and will host its fifth annual Reviewer’s Forum in Toronto in November. Designed for practitioners, partners, senior managers, file reviewers, quality control managers, practice inspectors, mentors and monitors, the two-day event consistently draws participants from across the country.

Among its many initiatives, PD Net — the professional development provider to CGAs and the wider business community — will launch an Excel Certificate program. The online video courses will be led by Ken Puls, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). The MVP award recognizes individuals with exceptional technical expertise who have made a significant, positive impact on a technical community.

On the research front, CGA-Canada continues to invest in high-quality reports on a variety of issues, including corporate governance. The topical and timely studies by CGA-Canada’s Research team serve to heighten awareness, generate discussion and influence public policy, regulation and standards-setting.

Fresh on the heels of its successful campaign for tax simplification, the Government Relations team will be focusing on ways Canada’s SME sector can capitalize on international trade opportunities. It will be consulting with owners and managers about their experiences and publishing its findings.

Going forward, CGA-Canada will remain focused on what is in the best interest of its members, the accounting profession and the public.
