DNQ – (Did Not Qualify / mandatory exam withdrawal). The disqualification process applies to the PACE Level, and confirms course work failure. If the student has not voluntarily withdrawn from the course by Monday of the 8th week, this status code indicates that the student did not achieve the minimum qualifying marks on the assignments required to write an exam. The DNQ status is recorded in the student’s academic history and is considered one of the course attempts.
DNW– (Did Not Write) applies if a student does not attend the scheduled exam without notifying the regional CGA office by any means. The DNW status is recorded as one of the course failure attempts and regarded as an academic penalty. The student is then required to re-enrol in the course.
ETR – (Election To Re-enrol / exam withdrawal) applies if a student decides to retake the course instead of writing the exam which he/she is qualified to write. This status is recorded on the student’s transcript of marks but does not constitute an academic penalty. Students are required to notify the regional CGA office by written notification.
DEF – (Deferral), if a student elects to defer an exam which he/she is qualified to write, a status of DEF is assigned, and the student is required to write the exam in the next 2 available sessions. A request to defer an exam must be made to the regional or representation CGA office by the deferral deadline. If a deferral request is not received by the deadline, a late deferral fee will apply.
When requesting an exam deferral, students must pay a non-refundable deferral fee and specify which session deferred to. If the student cannot write the deferred exam within the next two available sessions, an ETR grade will be assigned.
