Probability distribution theory is a mathematical technique that gives a numerical measure to how likely it is that each event in the distribution will occur. This technique can be used in different areas of business including projection of sales and profits. Observing historical data of sales and profits, a probability distribution can be developed. Learning curve analysis states that the more experience people have with doing a task, the more efficient they become in doing that task. It is not used in projecting firm's sales and profits.
