Eurobonds are bonds that are issued in a currency other than the currency of the country in which they are sold. Since Eurobonds are outside the direct control of the U.S. monetary authorities, they often have lower costs than domestic bonds because the cost of regulatory compliance is lower.
While this statement may be true in respect to large, well known companies, individuals are hesitant to buy bonds of companies that they do not know. Therefore, it may be hard for a small company to issue bonds in a country other than the one in which it operates.
